Independent assessment

Move Beyond BPC With Confidence.

An independent assessment of your current SAP BPC landscape, future finance requirements and target platform options across SAP and non-SAP solutions.

The purpose of the assessment is not to prove that SAP is the answer. It is to determine the right successor architecture for your organisation.

The decision

Replacing BPC is a finance architecture decision, not a licence decision.

Most organisations approaching the end of their BPC roadmap ask the question in the wrong order. They start with which product to buy, and work backwards to what finance needs. That produces a shortlist shaped by whoever was in the room, and a business case built on product features rather than on the group's actual consolidation, planning and reporting requirements.

A BPC estate that has run for a decade contains a great deal that should not be carried forward: script logic written around limitations that no longer exist, reporting built to work around a data model, planning processes shaped by what the tool made easy. It also contains genuine, hard-won requirements that any successor platform must meet. Separating the two is the substance of the assessment.

What the assessment covers

Six workstreams, run in sequence.

Current-state BPC

BPC edition and architecture, consolidation, planning, reporting, business rules, workflows, custom logic, BW dependencies, interfaces, performance and accumulated technical debt.

Future finance requirements

Legal and management consolidation, planning, forecasting, scenario modelling, reporting, intercompany, controls, data collection, workflow, scalability and ownership.

SAP target fit

Potential use of S/4HANA Group Reporting, SAC Planning and Reporting, ICMR, Group Reporting Data Collection, Datasphere/BW and adjacent capabilities.

Non-SAP target fit

Requirement-led evaluation of specialist EPM, consolidation and planning platforms — OneStream, CCH Tagetik, Oracle Cloud EPM, Anaplan, Board or Workday Adaptive Planning — assessed on fit, not on partnership.

Options & decision framework

Functional fit, finance-process fit, integration, data, migration complexity, user experience, scalability, controls, skills, cost and total cost of ownership, roadmap and future flexibility.

Recommendation & roadmap

A clear target architecture recommendation, transition approach, sequencing, risks and an executive decision pack.

Illustrative options

The target architectures typically on the table.

These are starting points, not a menu. The scoring framework is built from your requirements, and the recommendation follows from it.

Illustrative target architecture options
OptionExample architecture
Option ASAP S/4HANA Group Reporting + SAP Analytics Cloud
Option BSAP Group Reporting + a specialist planning platform
Option CA single specialist EPM platform spanning consolidation and planning
Option DSeparate best-of-breed consolidation and FP&A platforms

Which alternatives, specifically

Depending on your requirements, the assessment can compare an SAP-centred target architecture with selected specialist EPM platforms such as OneStream, CCH Tagetik, Oracle Cloud EPM, Anaplan, Board or Workday Adaptive Planning. The shortlist is tailored to the use case and agreed with you during scoping rather than presented as a fixed menu.

Radixa does not claim to implement every platform it may assess, and says so explicitly in the recommendation where it is relevant. We are not an SAP partner or reseller, and hold no reseller or referral arrangement with any of the platforms above — which is the only reason an independent evaluation is worth paying for.

On the 2027 question

“BPC is end of life in 2027” is not quite true, and the detail matters.

SAP's published maintenance position varies by BPC release and deployment model. A single blanket date is the version that circulates in sales conversations; it is not the version that should inform an architecture decision.

Some variants have already passed mainstream maintenance. Others run to 2027 with an optional extended period beyond that. BPC embedded in S/4HANA sits on a materially longer horizon again. Which of those describes your estate changes both the urgency and the shape of the answer — and it is the first thing the assessment establishes.

We verify the current position for your specific releases against SAP's Product Availability Matrix and current strategy material at the time of the engagement, rather than quoting a date from a slide. Where the honest answer is that you have more time than you were told, we will say so.

Engagement options

Scoped to the decision you need to make.

BPC Rapid Assessment

High-level current state, main use cases, major constraints and two or three target options.

Typical duration: 1–2 weeks

BPC Modernisation Assessment

Detailed current state, future requirements, SAP and selected non-SAP options, and a decision framework with scored options.

Typical duration: 3–5 weeks

BPC Transformation Blueprint

The assessment plus detailed future-state architecture, capability mapping, migration waves and a delivery blueprint.

Typical duration: 6–10 weeks
